Actress Cameron Diaz says she’s often asked if she plans on having kids – problem is, she doesn’t know yet!
The 36-year-old In Her Shoes star tells Parade magazine:
“I think that it’s normal for people to ask that… especially of someone my age, because it seems like the obvious thing: ‘Why haven’t you done it?’ It doesn’t bother me. It’s not the cross I bear. I’m not somebody who is going to declare either way if I’m absolutely going to or I’m absolutely not going to have children. I have no idea. I’m still young. I have an unbelievable life. In some ways I have the life that I have because I don’t have children.”
Cameron may not be a mom, but she says she has plenty of practice with kids.
“I know what it’s like. I’ve changed the diapers. I’ve seen three births, so I totally get the whole picture. I don’t think it’s a compromise not to (have kids), I think it’s just a different choice,” she says, adding, “People might say, ‘That’s bull. She actually really wants to have a baby.’ My answer is: ‘No! Everything I’m bringing into my life right now isn’t geared toward that. It might be one day.’”
She is set to play a mom on the big screen as well in the film adaptation of Jodi Picoult’s best-selling novel, My Sister’s Keeper.
