Joe Jackson says Omer is Michael’s son
Jul 30th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Joe JacksonIf Joe Jackson can be believed, then it seem Michael did have a secret son! The father of the late singer confirmed Omer Bhatti is indeed the late singer’s son in an interview Thursday morning.

When asked if he knew if Michael had another son Joe responded, “Yes, I knew he had another son. Yes, I did.”

Speaking of Omer, he continued, “Oh, yes. He looks like a Jackson, he acts like a Jackson, he can dance like a Jackson. This boy’s a fantastic dancer. Matter of fact, he teaches dance.”

The interviewer then commented, “So maybe he’s the future of the family.” To which Joe replied, “I don’t know. I can’t say that yet, until I see it happen.”

Do you think Omer is Michael’s son? Do you believe what Joe Jackson says?

David Beckham dishes on family life with Posh
Jul 29th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

david-beckham-mar-21.jpgHere’s a treat for David Beckham fans: In a Q&A released today, the 34-year-old soccer star gives People magazine a glimpse into his private life, answering reader questions on everything from his family to those famous Armani underwear ads.

Though he’s enjoyed plenty of success on the pitch, David says he’s proudest of the family he’s built with his wife Victoria and their kids Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, 7, and Cruz, 4: “My greatest achievement is my children and my family. It’s about being a good father, a good husband, just being connected to family as much as possible.”

Speaking of the boys, ever wonder how he and Posh came up with their unusual names? David reveals their inspiration:

“With Brooklyn, we found out when we were in New York that Victoria was pregnant with him, so that’s where his name comes from,” David reveals. “Romeo comes from [the fact] that we’re a very romantic couple. When we first met Tom Cruise – actually quite a few years ago – I said ‘Isn’t Cruise a really nice name?’ And Cruz came from that.”

In a star-studded world where marriages often seem to end almost as soon as they’ve begun, David and Victoria have managed to keep theirs intact – in fact, they celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary this month. He thinks the secret is to have fun, and to try make time for another.

“We’ve got three beautiful children together which our whole time is making them happy and making sure they’re healthy and good so most of our time is spent on them,” he admits. “But we have to also spend time together as a couple and that’s always important.

Now onto those ads… The UK native recently unveiled – to great fanfare – his steamy new Armani underwear ad campaign. But what do his boys think of the revealing pics?

“When they first saw them, they were like ‘Daddy, why are you in your underwear so everyone can see?’ They don’t mind. If they were older they’d be embarrassed, maybe.”

Drawstrings on children’s clothing pose hazards
Jul 29th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Drawstrings on children's clothing Although there have been federal guidelines and an industry standard for more than 10 years, clothing with hazardous drawstrings continues to be sold.

Clothing drawstrings are a strangulation hazard because they can get caught on playground equipment and in other places, like bus doors. In 2007 and 2008, the CPSC issued more than two dozen recalls of clothing with such drawstrings, mostly sweatshirts and jackets. (See one from February in a Safety blog post.) The agency continues to track and investigate incidents of deaths and injuries each year in which children’s hood and waist drawstrings become entangled.

When your baby reaches size 2T (not uncommon around his first birthday), CPSC recommends removing neck drawstrings from all outerwear, including jackets and sweatshirts. Likewise, before buying outerwear with a waistband drawstring in sizes 2T and up, such as those found at the bottom of a jacket, make sure the drawstring is sewn to the garment at its midpoint so that it can’t be pulled out more than three inches from the garment on either side. (Read our recent posts on other children's clothing features you should look for and avoid. and tips for buying used clothes for babies.)

Even better, do not purchase children’s jackets and sweatshirts that have any drawstrings. Look for snaps, buttons, Velcro, or elastic at the neck and waist instead. Finally, remove toggles or knots at the ends of all drawstrings to prevent them from getting caught on objects or doors and entrapping a child.

Brad Pitt’s 6pm curfew
Jul 29th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Brad PittBrad Pitt wants to clear up a common misconception: Life as an A-lister isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

“It’s so tough being an actor,” Brad jokingly complained at last night’s Berlin premiere of Inglourious Basterds. “Sometimes they bring you coffee, and sometimes it’s cold, and sometimes you don’t have a chair to sit on.”

The 45-year-old actor and his girlfriend Angelina Jolie are near the top of just about every list of Hollywood heavy-hitters, but he says their life isn’t always glamorous, telling The Daily Mail, “I’m a dad now – my partying ends at 6 p.m.”

It sounds as though sleep takes precedence over partying these days, thanks to kids Maddox, Zahara, Pax, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. In a recent interview Brad said that he and Angelina have a “3 metre wide bed, but even that isn’t big enough. They all come crawling in in the morning. It’s just about surviving! We all have sleep deprivation.”

He went on to describe a typical day in the Jolie-Pitt household – when he’s not off promoting movies, that is – saying, “I get going early, make breakfast, get the kids dressed, brush their teeth and take them to school. Angelina is working at the moment. We take turns.”

Toni Collette talks returning to work after baby
Jul 29th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

colletteI love Toni Collette. Love her acting (especially in The United States of Tara), and love that she is a fellow mom!

In a recent interview the 36-year-old actress talks about returning to work after having daughter Sage, now 18-months-old. Toni says:

Even though I was beyond exhausted – I was breastfeeding and had a little person living off my body – I was always excited to wake up and go to work. I never woke up at four o’clock and thought, ‘I don’t want to go,’ I truly adored going to work. Week after week I would just wait for the script to come because it always took me on a trip. I was like an addict with this story.

Toni doesn’t appear to have plans for more kids in the near future. She says, “I think about it. I am pretty happy with my one gorgeous little person at the moment. I am just enjoying her and enjoying this time.”

So sweet! Don’t you wish everyone’s return to work post-partum could go so easily? If you are a working mom, how did the transition go for you?

Ellen Pompeo’s maternity wardrobe malfunction
Jul 29th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Ellen PompeoWhoops! It appears that an expectant Ellen Pompeo had a wardrobe malfunction…or did she?

The mishap in question is pictured here. Ellen was photographed Monday on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, with her shirt blown up by the breeze, her white shorts unbottoned and unzipped, and her growing baby belly busting out!

Check out the picture and then tell us what you think. Was this a wardrobe malfunction, or is Ellen just trying to squeeze in a few more weeks before finally giving in to maternity clothes?

I’m thinking she should have done the rubber band trick at least. I can’t figure out how she got those undone shorts to stay up!

According to the NY Post, cameras will follow Wendy’s life as a single mother and how she and the family cope with the downside of the entertainment industry.

I wonder if Tobey will show up with his children Otis and Ruby to spike up ratings?
