Brad Pitt complains about “constant assault” on privacy
Aug 31st, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Brad PittThere’s famous, and then there’s Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. After four years and six kids together, the superstar parents are still getting used to their lives making tabloid headlines on a daily basis.

“There’s still no rulebook for it,” Brad says. “Angie and I talk about this – it’s gotten so out of hand, this constant assault on your peace. It is not what we signed up for when we started doing films.”

The Inglourious Basterds star admits that their fame affords the family “a good life, for sure,” though he describes it as being relatively normal.

“I spend time with my kids and I write horrible songs. I play the guitar and I love music, but I really suck! We watch DVDs. I love driving my motorbike around, playing with my dogs. We do lots of barbecues. We travel a lot.”

Do you sympathize with Brad & Angelina? Or is the “constant assault” on their privacy just the price of fame?

Milla Jovovich flaunts her post-baby body in Maxim
Aug 31st, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Milla Jovovich Maxim magazineLooking at model mom Milla Jovovich’s flawless figure on the cover of the September issue of Maxim, it’s hard to believe she gained 70lbs while pregnant with her daughter Ever Gabo, now 20 months.

The newlywed – she and her longtime partner Paul WS Anderson tied the knot earlier this month – says she was happy to strip down and show off her postpartum shape for the men’s magazine.

“Look, I do Vogue, OK? I’m not doing this [photo spread] to advertise a designer; I had a little girl recently, and I’m doing this to show my post-baby body!” Milla exclaims. “Lingerie and a sheet were all I needed. I know it’s all about my body. I want to give readers exactly what they want, and they want to see me.”

Earlier this year Milla, 33, talked about getting pregnant again, saying, “I do want another baby but not for a little bit. I’ve only just lost all the weight so I want to enjoy my old body for a while before I have to become a crazy alien again.”

In quotes: Kate Beckinsale
Aug 31st, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

quote.gif“Lily’s really retro so she says ‘Oh I wish you could work with Joan Crawford or Janice Joplin.’ I’m like, ‘They’re dead now. It’s probably not going to happen.’ She’s into Marilyn Monroe and John Lennon and all these people. Maybe if I worked with Taylor Swift I’d be golden though.”

Jerry O’Connell didn’t watch twins’ birth
Aug 31st, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Rebecca Romijn & Jerry O'ConnellJerry O’Connell is a doting stay-at-home-dad to his 8-month-old daughters Charlie and Dolly, but he admits he couldn’t bring himself to actually watch their birth.

The actor says that he took the advice of a friend and looked the other way during his wife Rebecca Romijn’s c-section.

“I was there for the birth but I did not look though. A friend of mine said ‘listen, I’ve looked so I’m giving you a piece of advice – I don’t think you should look’ so I didn’t actually see anything.”

Meanwhile, model mom Rebecca already seems back to her pre-baby figure. Asked how she managed to drop the weight so quickly, Jerry replied, “Yes… yes I guess she is. She looks great, back into the pilates. She’s stopped breast-feeding so it slows down a little, I don’t know the particulars. But we had a very large lunch today and we had dessert so I don’t think she’s dieting per se.”

That’s what you said!
Aug 30th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

twys.pngMay I brag that I’m writing our weekly round-up from vacation this evening? I hope you all are enjoying the last weeks of summer as we are!

This week back to school was on the minds of Brooke Burke, Jon & Kate Gosselin, and Denise Richards. TV Guide listed the top celebrity breastfeeding moments, and Kendra Wilkinson showed us her growing bump!

On the subject of Anne Heche lashing out at her ex, reader Liz had no mercy, saying, “Classless! And how can you in one sentence call your ex a lazy father & in the next complain that he wants to coach your kid’s soccer team? What a mess she is!”

Emily wasn’t buying Heidi Klum’s claims that she chooses bigger regular clothes over maternity clothes. She commented, “Celebrities are such liars! They don’t just wear regular clothing a size bigger! They have special made outfits to fit their body perfectly, so it looks like they can wear anything and look good.”

Our readers, including Michelle, weighed in on which number sibling transition was the hardest. She says, “Our 1st two are 11 months apart. that was the worst, going from 1 to 2. Our third (and only boy) is almost 3 years younger than our first. Not as hard, going from 2 to 3. We have another 9 weeks until #4 gets here. Can’t wait to see how that goes!”

Best wishes! Keep those comments coming, everyone!

Alicia Silverstone’s plans for kids – and a kids’ book!
Aug 30th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Alicia SilverstoneMotherhood is definitely on the agenda for actress Alicia Silverstone, who tells Health magazine, “I think I’ve had baby fever since I was 2.”

The 32-year-old Clueless star says that she and her husband of 4 years are waiting for the right time to start their family.

“I know I want to be a mom, and I know my husband [musician Christopher Jarecki] will be a great dad. But then there’s the reality part, where I also have all these other things I feel so passionately about, so we’re not at all trying. [Laughs.] I think I might be ready maybe next year.”

Alicia already has a birth plan in mind, saying, “I want to have kids and go through, ideally, a whole natural-birth experience.”

A longtime animal and environmental activist, Alicia recently wrote a book on going vegan titled The Kind Diet. Asked by Health if there is another book in the works, she admits she hopes to join the growing list of celeb moms-turned-kids’ authors.

“Yeah, but I want to wait until I have kids and then write a book for children. I have a lot to say about kids, but I don’t think anyone wants to hear that when you don’t have them!”
