Apr 5th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

I need advice, my mother in law found a page out of my daughters diary. First off I would never let her know that ive read this page out of her diary. I dont want to lose her trust, but I want to open doors and some how let her know that the feelings she has are "empty". I want her to come to me and talk and feel comfortable but I just dont know where to start. Help!!

Need Help

I am a stepmom of two kids, and we share a 19 month old. He thinks that i am hard on the two, then i am on mine. One they are old and two i will be hard on mine. when it comes to something like disciplining the kids, he never sticks to it.
For today his daughter who is 10 fliped him the finger and all he did was send her to her room to think about it. That was it. what is that? She put up a fight for that. See they have been going to bed late because of spring break . And tomorrow is school. So today when he tried to wake up his son who is 6 for hockey it was hard. so i said they should go to bed early today because tomorrow is school. But they went to bed at ten. His son asks me if he can have pop i say no then he asks his grandma who says yes, and his dad dose nothing about it. The other day his daughter wantedf to go for a walk around the block with a friend i said no because dad would not like it. Well dad was not at home at the time, but i know how he is. So i got her to phone him and he said the samething, but she says well nanny let me last time. Well his mom phone me at work to see if he would let his daughter walk to 7 11. I said no he would not like that. Well he dosent stand up to his parents and i look like the bad guy. Its like he only needs me when no one else is there. I am sick of this. HELP

Is she ready?

I think my 17 month old is ready for potty training. She already knows how to flush the toilet and if you ask her if she went poo-poo she lifts up her dress and smiles (SO cute by the way). But is she too young? I asked my mother for her advice and she said to go ahead. I guess my sisters and I were all potty trained right after we turned one. I think maybe I’m nervous. Where do I start? Should I by a curtain brand of pull ups? We already bought a step stool and the little toilet seat insert. Advice?

Adoption Section?
Apr 5th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Hi, my husband and i are trying to adopt. We already have a biological daughter but can not have another one so we are adopting. It would be nice, and a great way to branch out if there was an adoption section to support all the ‘waiting to adopt’ and ‘adoptive parents’ out there. Just a thought!

anyone else have a bad teether?
Apr 5th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

My son is 8 months old and still no teeth. He used to be the funnest thing to be around now all he seems to do is cry. We’ve been to the doc and he says it’s just teething. We’ve tried pain meds, teething toys, gels, tablets, the works and still nothing! He cries when anything gets near his mouth and don’t even get me started on sleep times! I know it will pass, I just want to hear I’m not alone.

So, today is my first day I have gone without a smoke. It’s been interesting, let me tell ya. I’ve been smoking for 7 years (I started when I was 15 unfortunately). All I can say so far is thank God for antidepressants and antianxiety meds. Otherwise I probably would not have made it. The bubble bath helped too lol. And I’ve been glued to the computer. (I’ll deal with that addiction later ;)

Today has mostly been a reflection day. I’ve realized a lot of WHY I began to smoke, and why I continued to. So it’s been easier to not smoke when I think of those reasons.

I think I might win this! :)

Hi there,
I’m wondering how everyone feels about losing the baby weight – how soon did you hit the gym after the birth, what did you do and did it work? Also how long does it take to lose "the pouch"?
(I’d love to hear from those who had c sections as well as vaginal deliveries)

Family Shower
Apr 5th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

I need some advice, insight, better understanding of my husband. Our daughter is 17 months old and since the day she was born every now and than we would all just take a shower together. My husband and I used to do it all the time before the baby and when she was born we just continued. He used to love it because our daughter loves the water so much and they used to have so much fun. But for the past couple weekends, I’ve asked ‘why don’t we all shower together today?’ and he says no. I’ve asked him what’s up and all he said was it’s weird now that she’s older. Is she too old now? I still think of her as a baby. Does anyone else think she’s past the point where we can all shower together?

My anniversary was yesterday, and it was great! We stayed in a hotel suite, went swimming, tried to eat the first tier of our wedding cake…didn’t go well…ummm, we did it all! And when I say "all" I mean "ALL" :D :D:D We needed this so badly. And, now I realize…We have to start making time for each other. For nine months, our son has been our complete focus, not each other. So, fingers crossed, that we can do it!
