pregnancy depression
Apr 5th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

from the very moment i discovered i was pregnant i hated the idea. from time to time it would grow on me, but then my selfishness would have me hating the thought again. i would cry, sometimes for hours because i was pregnant and gonna have a baby, i was sad for all i would have to give up. i worried constantly that wen my child came i wouldn’t love her. well on Jan 24 at 10:02 am my daughter was born. it was love at first sight. deep in the core of my being i felt i must protect this creature of perfection. i just know i will spend the rest of my days giving my daughter everything i can and i hope 4 her better than i ever achieved for myself. some nights i just cry tears of joy cause love was just a word til i met my daughter. my blood flows through her veins i created beauty all in a little bundle of 7lbs 3oz.
i do get frustrated from time to time and my birth story is pretty scary but i love her. i cant believe there was a time i thought i wouldnt love her. the crazier thing is i want another child, in about 5 years.

Concerns about baby food & crawling
Apr 4th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

My daughter Carlie is 8 months old. And before she was born and still to this day i read every parenting magazine and baby book i can get my hands on (What to expect the 1st year etc.) And they all seem to have different opinions on when to start babies on certian foods. I give her the stage 2 baby foods as of now, but in my "what to expect book" it says she should be on stage 3 foods right now. I tried giving her some but she throws it up and gags on it. At first i thought the problem was that she didnt like the taste, so i tried something different. And still the same thing. She can eat the stage 3 canned cereals like oatmeal with bananas and things like that but she WILL NOT eat anything other than the cereals. I dont know if she just doesnt like the texture or what. And i have also heard from my mother and read that it is ok to start her on finger foods as long as they are very soft and can be easily broken up in her mouth. So i made some potatoes and peas and mashed them up really good and made them less thick by adding some formula, but as soon as she tried it she gaged and threw it up. I dont know if this is normal for her age, that the books are wrong, or if i need to consult her pediatrician. She doesnt have any teeth yet but i was told that babies dont even chew with their front teeth because they cant chew with them only bite and they have to learn to chew with their gums. Anyone have any advice?

And another concerns…
I dont try to pressure her or compare her to other babies her age. But i do get worried when i see my friends 6 month old crawling and my daughter has yet to crawl. I put her on her stomach even though she hates it, and try to get her to crawl for toys or a bottle and she just cries and wont do it. I know some babies skip this stage and go straight to walking, but i figure when she learns to move about on her own i wont have her on my hip 24/7. Any thoughts on this?

Spit up , Why
Apr 4th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

Hi, Our son is on finger foods and sometimes he spits it up. Is this normal ? Or is something wrong ? His doc says we feed him to much that is why he spits up everything. Even his formula comes up sometimes. But we notice with real food its not as often. We have cut him back on food. Doc says he will stop eating when he is full. He dont turn food down. I know we should go see a nother doc but we live in small town with not many baby doc. That our looking for new people.

Early Pregnancy Pain
Apr 4th, 2009 by Clint & Mindy

hi everyone,
i am starting my 5th week of pregnancy and i have a quick question… does anyone know if this is normal?
all day friday i had been feeling light menstrual-esque cramps (the day i had my pregnancy confirmed) then this morning after my hubby and i finished BD’ing i had such painful menstrual-esque cramps like i’ve never felt before. not located on one side (i have what appears to be a cyst on my right ovary) but across my whole lower abdomen. and then off and on for the rest of the day i have been having slight cramping. has anyone else had this early on in their pregnancy or know if its normal? im going to be asking my dr. on monday but i was curious to know sooner, if possible. thank you for any help
