A Cascade Christmas Brings Holiday Spirit to the Cascade Theatre
Where: Cascade Theatre, 1731 Market Street, Redding, CA 96001
Shasta County’s favorite holiday tradition returns to the historic Cascade Theatre as Jefferson Public Radio and the Cascade present a two week run of A Cascade Christmas beginning Thanksgiving weekend.
Celebrate the season once again with family and friends with this all new Christmas showcase, presented by the Cascade Theatre. Experience the joy and magic of the giving season as toys from Santa’s workshop and holiday marionettes spring to life while the elves get everything ready for Santa’s big day.
The talented performers of A Cascade Christmas will be led once again by Jana Pulcini-Leard, who returns to the director’s chair after the overwhelming success of her most recent effort on the Cascade Theatre stage, The Sound of Music. Pulcini-Leard also managed last year’s A Cascade Christmas, and has been a staple of musical theatre in Redding for almost a decade.
A Cascade Christmas features more than 30 of Redding’s finest dancers, singers and actors who, year after year, give the community an inspirational gift that lasts long after the holidays end. This year’s production will feature live musicians on stage, including violist Kendra Wieck; new hand painted backdrops from local artist David Fraser, and some eye-popping video effects with the help of the Cascade Theatre’s new HD projector. The program also features the talents of Rhapsody Violetti, who has danced professionally with Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin and Jay-Z, and has been featured on the Grammy Awards, the MTV Music Awards and Dancing With The Stars. Redding native Cal Hunter will also bring the role of Santa to life once again. Don’t miss this touching, high-spirited holiday spectacle for the whole family!
Seven public performances of A Cascade Christmas are scheduled, beginning Friday, November 25th and Saturday, November 26th at 7:00pm, with additional evening performances Thursday, December 1st; Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd, also at 7:00pm. Matinees are scheduled on Saturday, November 26th and Saturday, December 3rd at 2pm. Two additional daytime performances will be held for school groups on the morning of Wednesday, November 30th. More information and reservations for the school performances can be obtained at the Cascade Theatre website.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.cascadetheatre.org or by phone at 530-243-8877. The Cascade Theatre/Jefferson Public Radio Performance Series is sponsored by US Bank.

Perennial classic-rock favorite, America, has been a band capable of transcending borders with its uplifting music and positive message. Founding members, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell (along with former band mate Dan Peek) met in high school in London in the late 1960s and quickly harmonized their way to the top of the charts on the strength of their signature song A Horse With No Name. America became a global household name and paved the way with an impressive string of hits including I Need You, Ventura Highway, Don’t Cross the River, Tin Man, Lonely People, and Sister Golden Hair. Forty years later, these friends are still making music together, touring the world and thrilling audiences with their timeless sound.

Throughout his impressive recording career, Chris Isaak has artfully explored the good, the bad and the ugly sides of love. He’s done so with an abiding respect for popular music’s past, but at the same time with a clear passion for the here and now. After two critically distinguished albums, Isaak’s rockabilly roots and velvet voice broke through in 1995 with Heart Shaped World and the international mega-hit Wicked Game. His latest album, Mr. Lucky, has again been critically lauded and features a song cycle that perfectly balances the ecstasy of great romance with the agony of pure heartbreak.
