Event Description: The 2010 Annual Shasta Dragonwood Celtic Faire Offers Best Of Celtic Music, Games, Living History and JOUSTING!
Shasta’s favorite faire transports you and your family to a world of wonder filled with amazing fun.
The Shasta Dragonwood Celtic Renaissance Faire is returning for another year of fun to Anderson River Park, May 1-2, 2010 from 10am – 5pm. This year’s event will celebrate the spirit of the spirit of the Celtic Nations with a host of great entertainment including music, Highland Games, a renaissance village, amazing one of the kind wares for sale. Guests will enjoy ethnic food and drink and a host of cultural exhibits and merchandise native to Scotland and the Celtic fringe. A highlight of the weekend will be a hard hitting joust provided by nationally acclaimed Knights of Avalon. A complete listing of performances is available on the website at www.shastafaire.com
Guests will enjoy ethnic food and drink and a host of cultural exhibits and merchandise native to Scotland and the Celtic fringe. In addition patrons will have a chance to judge in the annual whiskey tasting competition. Attendees will taste 10 types of unmarked whiskey and be asked once and for all which is the best. Entrees will include Irish whiskey, single malt scotches from Scotland, bourbon from the United States and other international entries.
The Living History Village will feature historical re-enactors from various time periods exhibiting Gatling gun exhibitions, battle pageants, amazing feats of falconers, jousting knights and noble steeds clashing on the tourney field, the Royal Court of Mary Stewart, Queen of Scots, minstrels, jugglers, bards, stilt walkers, fire eaters, bawdy wenches and much more. A tournament of combat featuring numerous sword styles will be held throughout the weekend.

The 2010 event will be held May 1 and 2, 2010 in Anderson River Park. Part of the proceeds will be donated to MS Moms, a nationally recognized non profit organization that helps support family members and survivors of Multiple Sclerosis. Also, a canned food drive will be in operation at the fair this year. Those making donations will get $2 off the entry fee. General admission is $13; seniors 65 and older and kids 7-12, $8; with kids under 7 admitted free.
