Riverfront Playhouse Presents
“Murder Me, Murder Me Not”
_______________________________________
Written by Bill Springer, Directed by Maria Spencer-Drake
January 23 – February 20, 2010

Don’t miss this frothy concoction by Bill Springer where no one is who he or she seems. As the play begins, Randolph Gaston has been murdered, and everybody is after the insurance money (including the deceased). The characters we meet are: Geraldine Gaston, who, we are told is recently widowed; Alice, who has been working as the Gastons’ maid; Father Bently, who claims to be the new Irish priest at St. Matthew’s; Ambrose Brinks, who arrives to see the widow; Mary Ellen, the overly helpful neighbor of the Gastons; and Fenwick Feydeau, who claims
he’s (a) French and (b) an inspector from the late Mr. Gaston’s insurance company. BUT everyone isn’t necessarily who they seem to be. A series of double (and double-double) crosses, mistaken
identities, fake accents, a mysterious murder (the dead person is neither dead not the person we think), hidden bodies and phony mustaches–it all adds up to a completely intriguing comedy.
