$8,000 First Time Homebuyer Credit & Your 2009 Taxes

So…you’ve completed a purchase of property and are ready to get your $8,000 tax credit from the Federal Government.  Before filing your return electronically to the IRS so you can get that money quickly…you may want to keep reading.

The IRS website states that you must file a paper return, not electronic, due to the increased number of “compliance checks” by the IRS.  The entire story can be read here at the IRS website and remember…you should always get the advise of your tax accountant or attorney when you are looking for advise relating to your personal real estate finances as your situation is entirely unique to you!  We just wanted to share this information to you in case it helps someone from misfiling the first time and having to wait even longer for their credit!
