Today the SGMS continues to grow with paid membership now approaching 200.  We are efficient club with our books being held in a professional manner.  Our members are encouraged to attend all meetings, we hold a mangement meeting every month (board meeting) and also a general membership meeting.  We are very well-attended at our general meeting with sometimes 60 – 85 members in attendance.  It is amazing to some that we have such order in our proceedings, all handled by volunteers – many who hold down day jobs but still find time to assist the club in its affairs.  We are very proud of our members!  We conduct our meetings under the “Robert’s Rule of Order” and encourage our members to take an active approach and to take on a responsibility in our club affairs when asked.

SGMS has, for a long time, hoped to have our own CLUB facility where members can assist other members in the many faces of Rockhound Hobby work.  Be it finishing and setting a stone – working with silver and soapstone – or many other areas.
